The new Carnival Jubilee is named after the original MS Jubilee, a Carnival cruise ship that was launched in the 1980s. You’ll find that this new ship is a big step up from its predecessor, though, with lots to do and family fun everywhere you look. The line’s third Meraviglia Plus-class ship will be its second LNG-powered vessel and first from the company to display hull art.
Viking also has a new ocean ship coming in 2023 that is a sister to earlier vessels. After an initial transatlantic voyage from Southampton, England, to Galveston, Texas, Carnival Jubilee will sail seven-night voyages to the Western Caribbean out of Galveston. Like the last new Edge-class ship, the 8-month-old Celebrity Beyond, it'll be a stretched version of the two initial ships in the series (Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex), being both 20 meters longer and a deck taller.
Another noteworthy feature is Category 6, which will be the largest waterpark at sea when Icon of the Seas sets sail. “There’s also a greater space ratio onboard, allowing for less crowding and more space for guests to spread out and enjoy,” she says. There will also be new restaurant designs, which will include their popular Prime 7 steakhouse and French Chartreuse. Second in Norwegian’s Prima Class cruise ships, Viva will be the 19th ship in the NCL fleet.
